Help?

Maybe you have the rim sounds set to 'OFF'.

Yeah I'm just retarded. I was just not hitting it at the right angle. It works. My bad!

I think I'm too timid to whack the pads hard enough (neighbor syndrome)

I agree, the cy-8's suck doing crescendo's, I have a CY-15 and it is a world of difference, going to eventually upgrade the other two crashes to CY-14 or CY-12R/C. It just seems the rubber is thick to respond right to the softness in the rolls, I did notice that If I turn the CY-8 around and hit the plastic part it does respond more to my liking while doing crescendo's, but not so well for crashing

Cheers

don't you think that owners of td-9 deserve a firmware update?! something new.. a new feature, an improvement?

We should make a list of features we need, and then send an email to roland. like spam emails!!! until they release the update.

anything you are missing? To me the td9 works fine, especially vexed.

the features I would like to see can't really be implemented in a firmware update, but rather need a new module (tap tempo, more sounds, more backing tracks, compressors, etc), but what did you have in mind?

mp3 would be nice. The function to send metronome to phones instead of line out. Have the ability to set up different kits with different trigger settings.. loop the quick rec without having to save it to a pen drive... humm.. for now, tha's all.

AS great as MP3 playback would be, it would require an MP3 de-compressor in the module. I'm not holding my breath on this one...

Colquhoun, yeah, we discussed that before, but think about this: the processor of the TD-9 can process all the trigger information (with all kind of settings), read the (compressed?) built in samples, apply some effects (like ambience, muffling, tuning, eq) to them in realtime to create drumsounds - and it would not be powerful enough to decode a 20 year old algorithm? As said before, probably a licensing issue.

Yeah , I'm totally in agreement. My only point was that this certainly isn't something that Roland can put into an update, but something that would need to have been put in the module in the first place.

sorry for another dumb question guys. I 've been away from my kit so I can't try this myself, so I'm gonna ask if you know that when we are playing through midi to a vst, I can use the module metronome to hear in headphones?

I broke my boss metronome, so I need to know this or I will have to buy one.

Thanks!

If you set Local Control OFF so that you don't hear module pad sounds too, yes.
