Quite frankly, I am SO tired of supporting a brand that STILL has not included a coffee maker in ANY of their offerings. If the TD-30 doesn't put an end to this shameful shortcoming, I am SO switching to Yamaha... or Krups.
![]() Oh yeah, and that MP3 thing would be OK I guess. ![]()

Just as long as they don't market it with a camera, I'll be happy. It seems that every device you buy today comes with a built-in camera. I'm sorry but I don't need a cell phone, iPod, toaster, or drum module with a camera!

I want drums that are the size of normal drums. Not depths per se, but width. 14" snare, 16" toms, 18" rides, 8" splash cymbals, etc. Basically more choices for us to make our kits visually distinct and more like a-kits. I realize you don't need these sizes on an ekit, but you also don't need shell wraps, etc, and I like the trend Roland is starting in that area of customization. Let's take it all the way.
Otherwise, obviously, better samples, more pure drum kits in the module, no more machine gunning. Just the basic upgrades you'd expect. Oh and while I do like the cymbals, make them thinner. They just look (and feel) bulky. |

I want sample switching. I'd like it if modules were more like VSTs. I'd also want more inputs.

I'd like the TD-30 to push the price of the other kits down some.
![]() More seriously, I'd like them to develop a better bass drum. KD-8 is too dead and the mesh are too bouncy. We need a go-between.

Triple and positional sensing Hi hat !
I wish Roland release a new triple trigger hi hat ( edge bow bell like a cy/15 ) with positional sensing hi hat sound module capabilities ...
A new Cy-15 or more with a very sensible bell !!! News v-cymbal ( slpash and china ) Snare sound improve with graduation of positional sensing maybe for the hi hat and ride too ... not only center / edge Pc/Mac software to editing all cosm and more on his chair ![]() Possibilities to choose one or more of all module's sound for the metronome ! Maybe an " auto calibration trigger setting " because all the drummers are differents ( the module can determinate velocity stroke and adapt them to the sound the pad .... )

My ideas about future Roland V-drums
Well ,
I think Roland will keep the KD-140 for their new kits , then keep the " cone " technology .... In my opinion Roland will release new biggers pads like pd-140/145 with ( still ) spider basket and piezzo/cone ... I think too they will release new cymbal pads : First a new hi hat with all features of the vh-12 but triple trigger capability and certainly bigger like the new pads ... Vh-13 or vh-14 After a new bigger v-cymbal ride with a more sensible bell ... Cy-16 , maybe news " real " V-slpash Cy-6/8/10Sp and V-china Cy-14Ch The news " big " v-drums kit will have : 1-kd-140 ( kick ) 3-pd-140/145 ( snare and bass toms ) 1-pd-105 ( tom tom ) 1-pd-125 ( medium tom ) 1-cy-14 ( crash 1 ) 1-cy-15 ( crash 2 and bell crash trigering ) 1-cy-16 ( ride ) 1-Vh-13/14 ( Hi Hat ) The new module will have three trigger input for the hi hat ( HH CTRL / Hi Hat / Bell ) and two input for the crash 2 ( Crash 2 / bell ) in my opinion the others triggers inputs will be the same as Td-20 but maybe Aux5 and Aux6 not sure Roland prefer in my opinion sell more than put more triggers input on their modules New module will have " interval control " on all trigger input and all sounds or many many sounds , positional sensing will be present ( I wish ) on the Hi hat ... maybe on the toms ( like td-10 !!! ) On the snare a better positional sensing ( gradually ) not " on/off " maybe an " interval positional sensing " A new great COSM feature : the module can detect many different stick ( with velocity preasure maybe with bigger hit surface ) and can caculate a " bigger sound " In fact when you play an acoustic kit with 7A you have a smaller sound than with 2B Maybe : " Hit Surface Detect Thechnology " HSDT ![]() After the news td-12 probably td-22 will have all features than the " big module " except " HSDT " The pads will the same as the td-20 Kit but kd-120 ... this td-22 will have Vh-13/14 capability like vh-12 on the Td-12 Sorry I'm Crazy I stop here

I would Roland to make their drums and cymbals 128 zones like the mandala. Hell, Buy out the Mandala design and rectify its shortcomings. Then create a module that can play vst's in a stable environment eg (muse receptor).
C'mon roland it cant be that hard. Especially when you're charging 8+ G's for your top end kit.

Cup holders. They need to take a hint from the auto industry and put 6 cup holders on the next unit. And a moon roof.
I really only want two things: more inputs, sample randomizing on repeated strikes. Everything else is gravy.

Priority #1 for me is to STOP THE MACHINE GUNNING! Then there is: Ability to load samples via USB. And use USB instead Compact Flash. And allow use of USB for MIDI. Better rack system. This really needs memory locks and it needs to fold up better. VH-12 is pretty good, but I'd like to see lighter cymbals and more effort into making them work more like acoustics. As long as we're paying a bloody fortune why not put in a provision for using VSTs? |
