Bass Drum Lift

Has anyone tried this and what is the feedback? Anything from "Jeeze, forget it" or "this is better", or "yeah, it works for the following reasons" welcome. Did search product name to see if it has been covered, but found nothing. Apologies if there is something buried out there and this has been analyzed by our very capable forum. I know that Jobeky uses them for all their 18" & up bass drums. And they look extremely simple but they make a ton of sense vs. the ones that clamp *gasp* onto your hoops. I prefer the look/feel of smaller kicks and I wouldn't want it lifted up at all, but I can see the general purpose of this. Gets the drum to resonate from underneath too so it's no longer blocked by the floor.

Thanks, Adam. Yeah, that makes sense, of course. I have a 23inch bass drum, so may not make sense for that size. (For your recent DW interest, it is 18x23 Bass drum w/VLX shell).

I used a riser on my 18" kick, mainly to get the beater nearer the centre. While you can move the beater down the arm instead it makes the arc of movement short and unless you saw the arm you can risk it hitting the head (with my pedal anyway). Worth having.

I bought this kit. You need also a bracket which hold usually the two toms on a bass drum. You put this bracket under the 16'' shell to hold the new jungle kit Easy to convert a 16'' floor tom to a bass kick and the look is pretty nice.

Nice! Like the idea of a smaller bass potential for smaller set alternative. Good to experiment with the sound of my larger floor tom.
