Okay, so here is the deal:
I heard about the whole VEXing thing, and I do not completely understand what it exactly does with your drumkit. Does it give you the sounds of original drum sets, instead of the ones that are already on your module? Like when I hit my snare I get a different sound when I have the VEXed kit instead of the normal, standard kits? Can you just put this file on an USB stick and put it directly in your TD-9 module? And I have also been looking which expansion I would want, can you have 2 expansions at the same time? I am looking to buy the metal mania expansion, It would be so ****ing amazing if I could play with the sound of Lamb of Gods drummer, Slipknots drummer, Slayers drummer!!!! It would be so cool if VEX could do al this... So, does VEX give you different sounds when you hit a snare/cymbal?

Vex packs are the sounds that come with the module, tweaked using the modules own editing parameters, to sound like the kits they describe. They sound MUCH better than the stock kits. Theoretically you could tweak it yourself, but the ppl at Vexpressions are pros at it. It's well worth the money to get them.
Metal Mania all sound astoundingly like the real kits. My other favorite is Acustix. Some very cool kits on that one (Including brushes and Latin which sound much better than Roland's versions). I haven't got the new master 50 tho, can't comment on that. I can't wait for some electronics on the TD-9 by these guys ![]() |

Here's the link for the TD-9 Vex packs, which one you get depends on what type of music you play. Metal Mania has some really tight metal kits, Hodge Podge has a good variety, I recently got the Master 50 kit and am pleased with the variety it contains. Like most of us, I recommend you get VdrumLib which allows you to pick and choose kits and components from various Vex packs and backups and create your own pack.

also, in order to organise you vex packs, and maybe add kits from two or more vex packs (up to the limit of 50 kits), get vdrumlubrary from www.vdrumlib.com. well worth it, makes organising the kits a snap!

I grabbed the Metal Vex pack a while back and am pretty pleased with how it sounds. I used the Vdrumlib free trial to organize the kits, taking all 25 from the Vex Pack, combined with my favorite 25 preset kits.
