    Resetting TD-20

Hi Folks! Today is my B-day, BFD right? So I have today to do whatever I want and finnally have some time. I have been trying to restore my TD-20, I took out the TDW-20 card and now it wont do anything, in the window it says SYSTEM ERROR NO EXPANTION BOARD power off and re-install expantion board. I have removed the battery for 5 mins, no luck, put in a flash card and pushed the card button, no luck. WTF???
Im needing help with this, any takers?? Thank-you!

The point is you have to re-install the original firmware. The guy that wrote the instructions is a Roland employee. Read each step carefully; take it slowly. Download the firmware for the TD 20 from the Roland web site.

It sounds like I need the 109 program installed first, my laptop doesnt do flash cards so I bought a card reader. Im having trouble downloading to it, my puter doesnt recognise the card. will keep trying! I should have saved it from my TD-20 (the program) but didnt, dumb mistake!

I've done this downgrade several times and it has always worked for me. The key is that you need to put the TDW-20 expansion card back in, first! Then, with the expansion card still installed, you need to install the 109 firmware. After the 109 firmware is installed, you can then remove the expansion card.

If you are still having problems downloading the 109 firmware, I can email it to you. Just PM me your email address and I'll email it to you.

My biggest problem right now is I have windows 7 ultimate on my laptop and its not recognizing the card reader. Once I get that figured out maybe I can download to the Flash Card. I spent all day yesterday trying to figure it out, still no luck. What a waste of time, wish I could buy the flashcard with the dounload already on it!

Latest update! I was finnaly able to accomplish the downgrade after removing the TDW-20. First problem was the universal card reader I bought off e-bay. It didnt jive with my laptop. I bought one at Radio Shack made by Kodak, worked like a charm. Once I downloaded the 1.09 program to my laptop it got a little tricky. (Thank-you Silicone Drummer for the download!) The hard part for me was unzipping the download and pulling out the 2 things I needed, and apply it to the flash card. Never did this before so I was lost for a while. Took a few hours of trial and error, but did it. Then I followed Drew Armentrout's directions to the tee, work first time. I tried several times with the whole 1.09 download and wasnt making any progress untill I unzipped and picked the 2 things out that I needed. (TD20UPD.PRG, TD10UPD.ROM) I THANK YOU ALL, IM SO SORRY I WAS A PIYA, THANK-YOU ALL!!!!
