Can't really blame you there. You really have to do your homework these days to get what you pay for, that's for sure. I've found that out the hard way more than once.


Just to stay on topic a bit...if you end up keeping those Pearl style lugs Kenny, for another build, here is a link for the swivel nuts.......

Just out of curiousity: What are the shells made of? Crapwood (tm)?

I think they are made from shi-twood lol! I've no idea what the wood is.

Cheers for looking guys. I've been in touch with bumwrapdrums and I'm in the process of ordering the wraps from them to match my snare. My lugs are on the way already. Again I'm using the double ended tube lug and american walnut wraps.

I was only going to paint the interior of the drums but I got paintbrush-happy and painted the outer surfaces of the 2 shells. So, these are just like my 10" cut toms, all black and waiting for the wraps.

Ok, quartz trigger harnesses are installed, drums are wrapped in an American Walnut and they are trigger and feel great with my HD3 3-ply heads installed! Will post pics later when I stop playing them!

Looks great! Same style lugs as I want with my Diamond snare....when I get cashed up!
So it sounds like the Quartz harness is a winner! Interesting....was keen to go that track but didn't know how they would perform over the standard 'crossbar' setup.

I'm actually very impressed with the Quartz trigger harnesses. I wasnt sure how the rim in particular would trigger but it triggers very well and I love the feel of the HD3 3-Ply heads.

Im in the process of putting everything back on my rack but having difficulties fitting the 2nd 12" floor tom on the MDS9 rack so any ideas would be greatful!

Ive got all the parts for my cowbell conversion but need some time to sit down and get on with it.

I will post photos when its all put back together.

That's why I'm beyond staggered that Roland ask $649 for a PD-128S here in Australia...!
There's nothing to them - a plastic basket with $20 worth of electronics and a shell/hardware pack that's nothing special.
Look how good your pads are, and for how much per unit (even if you charged labour, and you're hardly a Roland type corporation with resources to keep unit prices down).
