    my love

my beauty. i had to post in this section!!

it is a 2box drumit 5 mk2. i have bought another 2box cymbal at first to have 2 crashes and one ride. after that i replaced the 2box kick pedal with a pearl eliminator 2002b double pedal. and i am using 2 tennis ball beaters. thanx to bengt of 2box for sending me a second beater!

then, thanx to an incredible guy, manfred, whodesigned a circuit, so that i could use a cy-5 for hi hat cymbal, i bought a pearl eliminator h2000 hi hat stand, and mounted the cy-5 on it. there was nothing wrong with the 2box hi hat, its stand was not to myliking. and since in the past i used to own a cy-5, i thought id go up for it.

latest additions were 3 gifts my drum teacher gave me. 2 cy-8 cymbals and another cy-5 (which needed a cable solrdered but i fixed that easily).

and now my beauty has 3 crashes a hi hat a ride a china and a splash. (ok, they are all cymbals, but i mention what sounds i have put in them).
the last thing i wanna do, is (if i find a cheap one, i aint paying more than 200 euros for it) get a pd-125 to use as a snare and make my 2box snare a floor tom. second option would be to get a 2box tom. it is all a matter of money. ill see.and once i do this, i will split the 2 zones of the tom so that i also add another cy-5 as a splash and i am set for a lifetime

ps. if you see a wool thingin the kick pad, its what my mum made so that when the beater hits my double ply mesh, it isnt feeling weird.
    and it is awesome

    thats all.cheers

Beautiful kit, nice to see a little variety in the brands.

Which one of the cy-8s is your china, the left or the right one?
What head are you using on the snare?

i have made my right cy-8 as a china. i try to use the same position in my cymbals as i use in my acoustic set. the head in the snare is a drum-tech design one. 2ply and much much better than the original mesh head, 2box came with. dunno if it is better than roland mesh heads, but it is at least as good
    cheers

Looks great but one concern- not sure if the kick drum is mesh or not but wouldn't that "wool thingy" replicate the damage that can be caused by a felt beater on mesh heads? Of course I could always be wrong (it has been known to happen)!

It may do, depending on what it's made of, but the problem with felt beaters is the fibres from the felt itself getting into the mesh and causing excess friction. I'd still have a patch behind it to be safe.
Nice kit btw, lots of cymblas

Nice. I especially like the "cymbal-forest".

I too love my Drumit 5. I am hoping to expand and get a couple more drums and cymbals. If recreating the acoustic experience on electronic drums is your goal, 2Box is by far the best drums that I have ever played.
