Question tdw 20 question [MIDI channel]

i'm kinda knew to the midi realm and am trying to use my tdw20 as a controller in logic pro. can someone tell me how i can find out what pads are sent on what midi channel? i've read the manual over and over and nothing but frustration.i know that when i go to setup-midi-midi cannel it tells me that the who;e kit is transmitted on channel 10 and midi control{f3} is kinda confusing and the manual doesn't get too deep into it. any help would be great. thanks!

I don't understand, you found the answer. pads send on channel 10 by default.

The kick might be c1, but that is not its midi number. A piano sends out midi note number 60 for c4...but all a3, G6, etc are piano octaves, not midi note numbers, which are 0-127.

if you have a tdw card, I assume you have the td20 manual (and not the td20x!)...on page 36 it will tell you how to find and change the midi note numbers, and on page 96 you can see them in table form (BUT! with a piano keyboard with the midi note numbers, just to confuse you - read my first sentence!)

Here's a table that shows Midi Note Numbers corresponding to note names and pitches:

And another table, with corresponding Midi Note Numbers for a particular drum sound.

just note that not everyone agrees that middle C is C4...some piano manufacturers, for instance Yamaha I believe, and software companies, like Garritan, have middle C as C3.

Also, Kurzweil keyboards use a different drum map, as being more intuitive than the GM one.
