Right. But I don't understand why people would want to use a pedal that's designed to have a beater which hits a head and then not use it that way. Every time I see one of those it looks like it's hopping around the floor trying to get away.

Well, maybe because they don`t want the kick drum, or can`t afford it.
Or maybe because this way they produce less noise/vibrations.
Or they need it for some other foot triggering.

Those are my reasons (except the one about affording a kick drum), don`t know for other people ...
Maybe some people would appreciate faster triggering for heel-toe ...

Anyway, don`t be so negative, "Let a thousand flowers bloom" ...

I agree with you Everson, thinking out of the box isn't a bad thing. I'm looking forward to hearing how it triggers and plays. Kudos to you for being adventurous and having the guts to buy one!

Hope it works out for you,

    Cheers

Very cool concept. The kick pad is the loudest thing on my kit, so this is very appealing. My only concern is there is no rebound like a normal kick. Seems like that could throw off your "feel" when practicing. Looking forward to your review when you get it in.

This is the cleanest and cheapest way to add a kick trigger I think I've ever seen. Nice find.
Makes me want to get one to run with my spare single pedal (so I put that to use somehow...!) for the occasional double kick frenzy.

Looks like it could be made for few dollars. A few strategic breaks in some 1/4" aluminum...a trigger box and and a rubber pad. Sounds like short afternoon project for Rob.

Thank you guys for your support!
As for DIY-ing something like this, I thought about that too, but I don`t see it can be done without proper tools. And some of them are very expensive. Then again, there`s trials and errors, so it could be even more expensive than the original product.

If this is the kind of thing you want, perhaps you should check out the triggered Hansenfutz. It is a beaterless pedal that has been around for many years.

Well, I don`t need a new pedal (Hansenfutz is just a beaterless pedal) - I needed a trigger for the pedal I`m used to. And now it`s on its way to me

It doesn't seem so different from the FatPedals I purchased twenty years ago.

I didn't intend to be negative. Whatever floats a person's boat is fine by me. My point is simply that a pedal that was designed to be beaterless from the get go might be more stable and possibly quieter.

I get that there are alternative pedal triggers and that beaterless may be nothing new.
But, yes, the point has been missed - this thing attaches to a pedal.
If you already have a pedal, it's comparable to a Hart pedal hammer or KD-7 - but they still require beaters.
For those with ultra portable ****tail kits, this would be awesome, no?
I think it's worth the money and I might just get one to try it!

Sorry if I missed it, but can these be chained together for double-kick purposes (like the KD-7 can)? Or, would you have to use two inputs on your module if you went with two pedals?

They appear to be a single input.
You could simply split the bass input using a stereo Y-Cable (effectively 'doubling' the input).
I've done it with cymbals and it's easy and works a treat.

Back to the OP - did you get this? Is it any good?
