I agree with Daniel. Positional sensing and control so that all the infinite variation of play can be heard, better samples, more control are all more important than cables...![]()

madi / optical / whatever multi channel digital out for easyer cabeling (switchable 44.1 48 khz some digital consoles run 44.1 some 48) maybe as optional card.
midi volume (7) in out on the mixer faders to control drum - samplers.(sadly sd2 does not have midi control) with a midi in off knob to avoid desaster.
sample/usb player like the one in td 30 but with "adressable" tap tempo - the sample plays like the drummer not vice versa.
offline pattern editor for pc s (online would be even better)
kinda like that one:" Roland finds a way to built a wireless kit so we can get rid of spaghetti's" but could be a mess on big stages.
undo not really necessary in the presets BUT the triggerbanks.- more trigger banks (i rent my drum out)
if the toms/snare cant be multisample at least a "random velocity within ranges lets say from 0-30/ 31 -60 and so on" feature to avoid machinegun effect.
and last but not least a "edge tip bell" hat cymbal plus a pitch function on the hat (velocity 120 to 127) witch simulates the "up n down bending sound" once playing tight tip and pressing the pedal from tight to very tight.
ps: cawffee machine
psps: wireless is useless battery mess....but why not open a separate "spaghettimonster" thread where we could find/optimize/share ideas and mods about the cable story

I'd like to see all the stuff the TD30 SHOULD have had.......like samples and all the other stuff the forum members have been wishing for.
I guess this is what wishing is for...

First some "minor" stuff:
Optional shell and pad sizes
Alternative-looking cymbal pads (e.g splash and china-looking cymbals)
Kick that can be played with any beater without getting burned right through
More quiet hi-hat system (so that you don't hear the "click-click-click" all the time -.-)
And then some "major" stuff:
Ability to record instruments in real life and save them as samples, i.e. being able to sample your own cymbals and snare and so on (however with lesser quality than the factory sounds, but still)
More zones for playing on all pads
Improved sensitivity
Increased snare sensitivity, enabling more realistic ghost notes and rim shots
Mute-able snare (and toms), i.e. you can mute it with the stick, your hands, etc (also being able to dampen it by physically placing something on the head would be awesome ^^ I like to put my wallet on the snare when playing A-kits to get that tight, high-pitched jazzy pop out of the snare :P )
I want to study geology cause then I'll at least hang out with people that like rock
I am gonna write down in a list all these ''wish list'' things ( the ones most asked) and i am gonna send them as a letter to the CEO of Roland .I will let you know about the content of my letter and their reply ( if any)
So let's see what happens next.....
I wonder if they even have an idea about the existance of this forum...
Ex E-kits:
''Lernean Hydra'' ( a bounche of roland pads with a td-6 module)
''Lucy'' (Diamond electronic drums with a td-12 module)

I would like a full size kick drum with a larger rack.
hehehehe....I'm sure Drew has been annoyed with the Roland bashing discontent around here enough that they know exactly who we are here.
Although he might just be taking all our good ideas and pitching them his own to the R&D dept. while keeping this place under wraps as his hidden treasure.hehehehehehe.................Good one Drew.

We clearly love our Roland gear.
The vast majority of 'Roland bashing' isn't actually bad. Much of it centers around the sounds, which is irrelevant if they're giving us the best they can.
Everyone wants the impossible (for free, preferably), but some things do seem like odd decisions.
I'll refer to the removal of MIDI in on the TD-15 as the one that currently has me puzzled.
The thing is, Roland says nothing when these issues are raised. That doesn't help. The ire is lifted by the impression that they actually don't care if the market is disappointed by their decisions. It's the kind of thing Apple gets in far greater volume.
But we keep buying (or, more importantly, new buyers keep buying) and we're a tiny portion of the international market - and a bunch of nut bags, for the most partso maybe we're not that important to listen to.
I feel sorry for Drew that so much of his good work can be dampened by whines from us, but that's to be expected if you front up. I'm sure some of what we say goes into the Roland feedback loop, so that's probably already a step up on how other people get to deal with their favorite companies.
Some decisions they make I will never understand, but I don't have any fundamental issues with any of Roland's approaches to e-drumming.
Like most here, I just wish I could justifiably afford the TD-30KV as my starting point... No need to bash them about that!

Real-sized drums FTW.
When I say "real-sized", I mean like jazz sized full kits... 18" BD, 12x3" SN, 8x6, 10x8 & 12x10" Toms (offer 8's separately as an add-on 5th tom... and add an input for it)... all double headed and lugged with cool wraps available.
Seriously; I think many of us that buy flagships would plop another grand for this type of thing.
even if they made a 8" tom that has the same shell config as the current flagship toms would be cool as i like hitting a 8" tom. seems kinda weird having 3 10" toms as rack toms. can you imagine how much a 18" bass drum would cost with the 14" costing a grand? Ive toyed with the idea of diy-ing a 12 x 20 bass drum but we'll see if that comes to play.
what would be really cool is if they'd sell the complete trigger baskets separately as a drop in's for
A to E conversions. ( been dreaming of the idea of converting a 7 piece pacific concept kit) but then again there's the cake pan method.
