Roland gave you only ONE extra cord for either another tom or another cymbal. i chose instantly another cymbal so i could have 2 crashes and then use a ride. but i would like to advance the TD-4 with another one or two cymbals. is their anyway you can do this? or does Roland make it like this so you have to go drop $1200 on a td-12 just for more cymbals and toms?

you could get some extra cymbals by going to a td9 - though it has just one input more than the td4, it has dual zone toms, and those can be split to make single zone toms and single zone cymbals, if you desire, through the purchase, or diying, of a special splitter.
of course roland has features on the more expensive module that are lacking at the low end - otherwise they would never sell any of the high end products!
makes good business sense for them...
