    VSTHost

I'm new in the VST world. I've made research here and in google and didn't find the proper anwser, hope you can help me ! The problem is I work with VSTHost + AD 1.5 and I can't figure out how to make it work with my e-drum. Is there any special setup for VSTHost ?

    - Runing a PC with XP
    - Roland TD-4
    - Presonus Firebox
    - VSTHost
    - Addictive Drum 1.5

    Thanks

If you're going to buy a Presonus be aware that it doesn't support windows 7 either x64 or x86.

They do fine products but they REALLY are terrible regarding driver support. I have one and i'm trying to run a firebox on windows 7 x64 but i'm having no such luck which means to me i'm stuck with a dead piece of good equipment...

Which part are you not seeing? Is everything loading but you have no sound? Does addictive drums not load into VST host. Are the Presonus ASIO drivers selected as your default sound card in Control panel? Are the Presonus inputs and outputs showing up in VSTHost? Are you using the Presonus MIDI inputs, and are they selected in VSTHOST? Do you have a MIDI cable connecting the TD-4 to the Presonus? Are you using the TD-4 Midi map in AD? Clarify the problem.

Are you using the Presonus MIDI inputs, and are they selected in VSTHOST?
Yes, The Midi In is Presonus MIDI In, Midi Out is Presonus Midi Out, Midi Trught is Midi Out.

I've tried the "Capture midi" in guitar pro to write my tracks and it works., so i know my connection is ok.

For AD i suggest Reaper, its cheap and works with aftertouch so you get chokes in AD.

VSTHost and SAVIHost are free and work with aftertouch. Good to know reaper plays nicely with AD. I'll probably use that when I need more power.

    I installed Windows 7.

Probleme is still there with VSTHost but SaviHost works fine so that's ok.
But I'm not able to have any midi capture from cubase 5/addictive drum 1.5

The configuration seams to be ok, I loaded my drum map in AD.

    Can someone help ?

    Thanks

I will download VSTHost and try it with my AD. I'l give you the results in a minute.

    Edit:

Just installed VSTHost and it loaded AD, also played everything perfect. The only thing that i had a lot of latency, but besides setting my midi port i didnt edit my soundsettings so it probably was using MME.

What i did, i installed it (well unzipped it in a dir) then i went to devices > midi , i selected my m audio under midi input devices.
I also used the TD9 map from my AD mapping window.

I originally had the same problem you had exactly. I completely uninstalled VSTHost and then unzipped it again. This time I configured all of my settings before dragging and dropping the addictive drums plug in. It worked perfectly. I have no idea what the difference was or what I did wrong before. I can only tell you that following the instructions in the exact order laid out on the XLN website worked for me the second time. As I come to understand the program better, perhaps I'll figure out what I did wrong to begin with. I can tell you that it is lighter on the resources than Cantabile Lite, and allows me to very easily run multiple instances (have to do this to use more than 2 crashes and a ride) of Addictive drums 1.5. Good luck, and post your findings.

VST Host defaults to using MME and a huge number of samples. Select your ASIO driver and set the sample buffer to 64 and it screams.
