    Tension free drumming

This is quite similar to another thread i started about hand technique and slippery hands. After reading and looking around i came to the conclusion that it all has to do with the tension free technique. So now my question is how to develop this tension free technique to play faster and more accurate and of course without stress, pain and sweat.

I also found a site for this http://tensionfreedrumming.com/ but i would really like to read your comments on this.

off topic: i had a small car accident yesterday and because i wasn't wearing the seat belt my face hit the wheel and i broke 2 teath. And no i wasn't watching the blonde across the street if you were wondering

Hey Hampis - sorry to hear you were hurt - be careful man, we need your good humour here.

Now I have to get in with the jokes before anyone else - how is the car? were you only driving a small car? does breaking 2 teeth make you a local here in deliverance now? how big a piece did you bite out of the wheel? Now if you weren't perving what were you doing? not drumming whilst you drive? we need photos of this gig! how will you be able to do your Hendrix solo now? smile!! do you like dentists?

I'm too tense to drum now....

Take it easy mate - and wear that belt in future!!

Unfortunately i was driving mrs car which is a small Renault and it is damaged and i have to pay to fix it.I was trying to change a cd in the cdplayer when i suddenly realised the car in from of me stopped (yes it was a red light). So i didn't even have the chance to press the brakes and BOOM !
The minute after that i just saw blood on the wheel and realised i lost 2 teeth which i can't find.Maybe someone took them as a collector's item

i didn't wear the belt because it was too hot but i know my fault.
And now not only i have to visit a dentist which i don't like but i have to fix mrs car too. When i came back home and gave her a big smile she was scared !!

i think i am also too tense now to drum....

hampis, you have problem with non relaxed playing, witch leads to many problems, like carpal tunnel sindrome...i also had big problems with grip and when we started concert with some powerfull fast song, i was in pain after 2 minutes...i had problems not with slippery hand(right one), but i was loosing all control on stick, becouse my hand was allready soooooo tired and with no power for holding the stick...so i went to doctor and the diagnose is CTS...after that i pay much more attention on warming up and relaxed non tension loose grip...its hard to change tehnique, after playing wrong for 20 years...now im geting better and im waiting for a surgery...so bee carefull and play with more feeling and with less power...i hope that anyone will understand my bad english
