    Hart Cymbals ??

    The cymbals I have:

    2xCY-12R/C Roland.

I saw on the Hart-site, those E-Cymbals II Brilliant.
How are they in compare with my Cymbals ??
Because they look almost like the real thing (cymbals).

    I have a TD-8 Module.

    Cool My humble opinion-

I'll weigh in with my non-technical opinion on the Hart Ecymbal II's.

I just got a set of 9 in this week and really like them. My modules aren't dialed in yet and the Pro 6.4 kit is still being tweaked, but so far my opinion is very favorable.
My two favorite pieces on the kit are the Hart Hi-Hat and Ride, they are both made of Bronze Metal and feel just like the real thing! Well- technically they are the real thing. I REALLY, REALLY like them! I suggest you get these- you'll love 'em.

The balance of them- crash, china and splash are a Poly material with a brilliant "gold"metal looking finish.. They are very light weight- others have described them as like hitting hard plastic Frisbee's (sound-wise and weight-wise), and that's not too far off , but they're more solid and durable than that. From a few feet away- they DO look like real cymbals.

When I first took them (poly) out of the box, I had concerns due to the light weight. They mount on a cymbal spring setup that makes them swing when you hit them- again, like a real cymbal. I beat on them for a few hours and they are just fine- no chipping, no cracking and no dinging- they are strong little buggers. Triggering is excellent. And the chokes work extremely well, and they have a lifetime guarantee against breakage. Very Highly recommended.

From an aesthetic standpoint, I really enjoy playing my new kit. It LOOKS and feels like an Acoustic Drum Kit- something I missed from playing my Yamaha DTX v2 black pad kit over the last few years. I sold my acoustic Rogers kit 5 years ago. :-( When I see the appearance of the Hart kit with all the shiny cymbals, the visual excitement of drumming returns, kind of a non-tangible, hard to explain benefit that just makes me happy to be playing behind a good looking kit again.

There's my 2 cents. My first impression is that they are quality pieces of equipment.

    Thanks for the replies....guys

I must say, the Roland I have aren't bad at all, but the looks could be better.
Maybe they could make them next time in Gold-rubber or something like that.

I think the Cy-12H Hi-hat could be better from Roland, the rim you have to beat very hard to get a good response.

    But.......you can't have it all

I'll weigh in on this now that I have a somewhat comprehensive set of the EcymbalII cymbals.

First off; the HH is without a doubt the BEST trigger I've ever played. Bar none. It is quiet (stick noise), responsive and just plain feels great!

The ride is just one RCH behind the HH in this customer's satisfaction. It was on the top of my list 'till I got the hats.

The crashes feel great, trigger responsively and look pretty darned good. (The ride & hat do too!). I would be more thrilled with the crashes if they were dual-zone - but then again, hey, they are crashes - you hit 'em.

With probably more than 100hrs on these crashes I can say that these puppies are friggin durable! Yes, the gold coat does flake off of the very edge on the drummer's side, but like I've said many times; this is visible ONLY to the drummer. I.E.: No bummer.

I've played the Rolands and the Yamahas at GC and recently gave the Zenbals a go. I'm afraid I'm still happiest with the Harts. Sure, a three-zone ride would be nice, but I like the feel of the Hart ride over the Roland, so I'll stick with the Hart.

That's my point of view. Such as it is.

I must say that the CY-12R/C from Roland is not that bad.
I have two, use one as a Ride (rim crash) and the other as a Double Crash.
It works very well I must say, although the Hi-hat CY-12H could be better.

    4x PD-80 (toms)
    1x PD-100 snare
    1x KD-80
    and Rack and TD-8module

I must say, I am glad that I could buy all these nice things in the first place....... a lot of money it was.
My Girl-friend was the first who said, if you like it that much buy it.

So I am a happy man

Mike V, how much, you want to pay for her
What I am saying.....she is not for sale.

Caspar I am very happy with my CY-12R/C from Roland, I don't know the prices at the moment but I thought they were cheaper than the CY-14.

Using the CY-12R/C as a crash, you get more movement(because of the smaller size) when you hit it, more like the real thing, if you tighten the Wing-nut to much of course.

    But thats my opinion

    A nice day.

    Hans-V
